Greater Manchester Cancer Vanguard

Progress Health Partnerships were commissioned to undertake a qualitative piece of research to gain deeper understanding and gather behavioural insight into the barriers which prevent women from participating in breast cancer screening. Exploring the barriers and attitudes, with a particular focus on BAME groups, people with learning disabilities and people from the most deprived wards.

Progress Health Partnerships worked with the University of Salford and Cavill Associates to research best practice in supporting the health needs of City workers, focusing on large financial and professional services companies. This was informed by a comprehensive review of academic literature, looking in particular at the health conditions arising in the employee population in these sectors, along with interviews with City employers – employing tens of thousands of people in the City – looking at the interventions these firms have in place. This body of work helped to guide others considering implementing or further developing similar initiatives

Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership: Research Into the Use of NHS National Cancer Screening as a Teachable Moment

Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership (GMHSCP) commissioned Progress Health Partnerships to scope and identify key opportunities to implement and deliver ‘teachable moments’ within the cancer screening pathway. The research included an evidence review of published research; qualitative data gathering from stakeholders; extensive service user insight; and testing of the actionable insights with stakeholders for usability of the research.
